GeoCatting!
What is GeoCatting:
GeoCatting is FCCO’s unique twist on Geocaching. Geocaching is the globally recognized recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object utilizing GPS coordinates. With only nine hidden CATche locations along the GeoCatting trail, participants will use the provided list of GPS coordinates and/or correlating clues to discover and locate all nine CATches. Each distinct CATche will be hidden inside a local business and feature a QR Code that participants will scan to track their progress.
When: The GeoCatting trail will be active June 1 until June 25, 2025
Where: Portland
Cost: $30 per registrant
How the game will work:
Registration will be available starting May 1, 2025, and will remain open until June 24, 2025.
The trail will go live on June 1, 2025. Each registrant will receive an email that lists all nine GPS coordinates and clues.
Using the provided GPS coordinates and clues participants will have to locate each of the nine hidden CATches. The trail does not have a specific order; participants can locate CATches in whichever order suits them.
The goal is to find all nine CATches by June 25, 2025.
Each CATche found equals an entry for the registrant into a special prize drawing happening on June 25, 2025, at FCCO’s 30th Anniversary Open House Celebration!
