12th Annual Furball - The Wizard of Pawz This year's Furball, held on May 1st, was one of our most successful fundraisers yet! Ed Cauduro, our Honorary Chair, made a $25,000 challenge grant through the Ed Cauduro Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation and we are happy to report that we surpassed the goal by raising $31,300 toward the match at the at the event!

The funds raised at the Furball help to support the spaying and neutering of feral and stray cats in six cities throughout Oregon and SW Washington. A huge thank you goes out to Ed, OCF, and everyone involved in the Furball! Click here to see some photos of the evening taken by Kathi Lamm.

Earth Day "Litter Prevention" Clinic Be Green. Spay and Neuter! In honor of Earth Day, FCCO held a “litter prevention” spay/neuter clinic on Friday, April 23. This clinic was free of charge for all qualified cats and funded by donations FCCO received from the HSUS Spay Day photo contest.

"Beat the Heat" Special FCCO held “Beat the Heat” special in honor of Spay Day, which was February 23, 2010. To help cats before they get pregnant, we celebrated Spay Day throughout the month of February by spaying/neutering 493 cats!

Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest Many people entered this year’s Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest and chose Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon to benefit from their pet’s votes. Last year FCCO raised over $2,000 from the photo contest! Results from the 2010 contest will be posted as soon as we know.

FCCO Finishes Sixth in the Give!Guide We did it! In celebration of our recently-achieved 40,000th cat, we had a goal to raise a dollar for every cat we have spayed/neutered. To help us reach our goal, Universal Cycles generously agreed to donate $10,000 - if we could raise $30,000 by year end. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, and a huge thank you to our friends at Universal Cycles!

A major part of our fundraising effort was through Willamette Week's Give!Guide. We are very grateful to be a part of this publication for the awareness that it brings to FCCO and our services. This year we came in sixth out of 79 nonprofits included. There is a lot of love for feral cats out there!

FCCO's 40,000 Cat Helped On Friday, November 13th, a male brown tabby only three months old was brought in to our Portland spay/neuter clinic.

This special milestone kitty is a third generation feral cat from a mill in Estacada. Five others from his colony also were spayed/neutered and the caregivers are determined to bring the remaining two to a clinic as soon as possible. Make a gift in honor of our 40,00th kitty today!

512 Cats Helped at Fall Feral Fix The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon held a FALL FERAL FIX throughout the month of October.  All qualified feral cats were spayed or neutered for only $15 (half the regular suggested donation amount.)  This special event was in celebration of National Feral Cat Day on October 16th and was made possible through the generous support of the Portland International Beerfest.

This year the Fall Feral Fix helped 512 cats, greatly exceeding our projections. While this is exciting news, it also highlights the clear need for our services. If you are a caregiver for a feral or stray please read our caregiver information page to learn how FCCO can help.

National Feral Cat Day is a day for us to think about the outdoor cats in our neighborhood. We often see these cats ducking behind the supermarket or running down alleys, and many kind-hearted people dig into their wallets to feed them. Who are these cats, and how did they get here?

We know how much you care about cats and want to help protect them. Now you can celebrate National Feral Cat Day by reaching out to others and spread the word that Trap-Neuter-Return works!

Petsense, the pet supply store at the Woodburn Company Stores outlet mall, is sponsoring a national adoptathon event on October 3rd and 4th.  As with all of our events, FCCO will use this opportunity to reach out to animal lovers and educate them about our program and services.

US Bank in the Pearl is giving FCCO space for a window display for the month of October, and a table in front of the bank for First Thursday (October 1st from 6pm - 8pm).  Please stop by and check it out!
